MClimate Multipurpose Button
MC-LW-BTN-01
A Ready For Anything® building block for human-in-the-loop control in Niagara-based LoRaWAN systems
Sometimes the smartest automation starts with a button.
MC-LW-BTN-01 is a LoRaWAN® multipurpose button that enables simple, reliable human interaction with building systems. Featuring three distinct button-press types and a built-in temperature sensor, it enables Niagara systems to respond to real user intent — without hardwiring, complex interfaces, or fragile overrides.
The problem this product exists to solve
Many building systems are automated but disconnected from the people who actually use them.
When occupants or operators need to request an action — such as extra ventilation, a comfort adjustment, a service request, or an override — the available options are often:
- Complex dashboards that few people use
- Hard-wired switches that are expensive to add later
- Manual workarounds outside the building system
The issue isn’t automation capability. It’s the lack of a simple, scalable, system-integrated way for humans to interact with the building after handover.
When this problem is addressed properly, buildings become more usable, more responsive, and easier to operate over time.
For Niagara-based systems, MC-LW-BTN-01 can be integrated using Innon’s LoRaWAN driver for Niagara, exposing button events and temperature values as clean Niagara points.
- Single, double, or triple press events
- Event-driven workflows instead of fragile overrides
- Consistent behaviour across rooms and sites

What makes this product different
Many buttons are treated as simple contacts. In a system context, they can be far more powerful.
- Event-based input: each press becomes a meaningful system event.
- Multiple actions from one device: single, double, and triple press enable different workflows.
- Retrofit-first design: place interaction where it’s needed, not where wiring exists.
- System-aware: designed to work with Niagara logic, schedules, and states.
Typical applications (where a button adds real value)
- Meeting rooms: request additional ventilation or comfort adjustment.
- Offices: local override without breaking automation logic.
- Facilities operations: flag an issue or trigger a workflow.
- Hospitality: service request or room-level interaction.
- Smart buildings: human-in-the-loop control without complexity.
How this fits into a Ready For Anything® Niagara + LoRaWAN solution
On its own, MC-LW-BTN-01 provides a simple physical interface.
When integrated into a Niagara-based LoRaWAN architecture, it becomes part of a Ready For Anything® human-in-the-loop solution — where automation remains flexible, understandable, and robust after handover.
- Button presses generate events via LoRaWAN
- Niagara interprets events based on context, time, and system state
- Actions are triggered without hard-coded overrides
- The system stays maintainable and predictable over time
From good systems to great outcomes
- Better user engagement with building systems
- Fewer informal workarounds
- Cleaner operational workflows
- Systems that adapt without becoming chaotic
Who this product is for
Designed for
- System integrators delivering flexible, user-friendly solutions
- Facilities teams needing simple interaction points
- Building owners who value usability after handover
Not ideal for
- Use cases requiring continuous analogue input
- Projects with no system-level logic behind the button
