MClimate LoRaWAN CO2 Display Sensor
MC-LW-CO2-E-INK-01
A Ready For Anything® building block for Niagara-based indoor air quality control with always-visible E-Ink Display and solar panel.
Turn “stuffy room” complaints into measurable, controllable performance.
MC-LW-CO2-E-INK-01 (MClimate CO2 Display LoRaWAN®) is a stand-alone CO₂ sensor powered primarily by an organic solar panel, with a large 2.9" e-ink display that shows current CO₂ levels and a historical trend. It combines CO₂, PIR motion, temperature, humidity, and LUX sensing to enable demand-based ventilation strategies and better operational decisions.
The problem this product exists to solve
In many buildings, indoor air quality is either invisible to occupants or buried in dashboards that only specialists check. Ventilation is then forced to run on schedules and assumptions — often over-ventilating empty spaces and under-ventilating busy rooms.
This leads to complaints about comfort, inconsistent well-being outcomes, and unnecessary energy spent. The issue isn’t that buildings lack ventilation equipment — it’s that they lack scalable, room-level CO₂ insight that is both visible and integrated.
When this is addressed properly, air quality becomes measurable, understandable, and actionable — without adding operational complexity.
For Niagara-based systems, MC-LW-CO2-E-INK-01 can be integrated using Innon’s LoRaWAN driver for Niagara, exposing CO₂, temperature, humidity, PIR motion events, LUX level, and device status as native Niagara points.
- Demand-controlled ventilation using real CO₂ signals
- Occupancy-aware logic using PIR events (optional)
- Clear handover: visible CO₂ + system-level control

What makes this product different
Many CO₂ sensors produce data but don’t change how the building behaves. This device closes that gap by combining local visibility with system integration.
- Visible CO₂ where decisions happen: occupants and operators see real conditions without needing dashboards.
- Event-driven intelligence: the device sends an uplink when motion is detected, as well as periodically.
- Flexible power strategy: solar-first operation with backup options for challenging locations.
- Retrofit-friendly readiness: deploy widely without cabling disruption.
Typical applications (where visible IAQ delivers real value)
- Meeting rooms: CO₂ rises quickly; visibility supports faster response and fewer complaints.
- Classrooms: clear cues for staff and operators when ventilation needs attention.
- Hotels: balance guest comfort and energy use across variable occupancy patterns.
- Commercial offices: make IAQ transparent while Niagara optimises ventilation centrally.
- Smart Buildings programmes: a scalable “measure → decide → act” IAQ layer without rewiring.
CO₂ → Ventilation → Energy (Ready For Anything® flow)
[ People enter the room ] ↓ [ CO₂ concentration rises ] ↓ [ MC-LW-CO2-E-INK-01 measures CO₂ + shows it on the e-ink display ] ↓ [ LoRaWAN sends data to Niagara ] ↓ [ Niagara applies logic: - CO₂ thresholds - time-based rules - PIR motion context (optional) - temperature & humidity context ] ↓ [ Ventilation responds only when needed ] ↓ [ Healthier spaces + lower energy waste ]
How this fits into a Ready For Anything® Niagara + LoRaWAN IAQ solution
On its own, MC-LW-CO2-E-INK-01 makes indoor air quality visible and measurable at room level. When integrated into a Niagara-based LoRaWAN architecture, it becomes part of a Ready For Anything® IAQ solution designed to stay useful long after handover.
- Niagara centralises IAQ data and standardises point models across spaces
- Ventilation becomes demand-driven rather than schedule-driven
- Occupants gain transparency (reducing “mystery discomfort”)
- Operators gain evidence for optimisation and reporting
From good systems to great outcomes
- Healthier indoor environments with clear, visible IAQ feedback
- Lower ventilation energy use through demand-based control
- Fewer comfort complaints and faster diagnosis
- Retrofit scalability without disruptive rewiring
- Stronger handover: the system remains understandable over time
Who this product is for
Designed for
- System integrators delivering demand-controlled ventilation solutions
- Facilities teams responsible for wellbeing and energy performance
- Owners focused on long-term operational quality (not just compliance)
Not ideal for
- Locations in continuous direct sunlight (to protect solar panel performance)
- Projects with no plan to act on IAQ data
