MClimate FAN-COIL THERMOSTAT
MC-LW-FCT-01
A Ready For Anything® building block for flexible, room-level fan coil control
Room-by-room comfort and control — built for retrofit reality.
The MClimate Fan Coil Thermostat (FCT) is a LoRaWAN® thermostat for 2- and 4-pipe Fan Coil Units, supporting 1–3 speed or ECM fans. It is designed for building retrofitting and enables room-by-room monitoring and control to improve energy efficiency and reduce heating/cooling expenses.
The problem this product exists to solve
In many buildings, fan coil units are controlled by aging thermostats that offer limited visibility, poor integration, and little flexibility after handover.
This leads to inefficient heating and cooling, high energy costs, occupant discomfort, and facilities teams forced to rely on manual intervention.
The issue isn’t fan coil technology. It’s the lack of room-level control that is easy to retrofit, easy to integrate, and resilient to change.
When this problem is addressed properly, buildings gain better comfort control, lower energy consumption, and systems that remain usable long after commissioning.
For Niagara-based systems, MC-LW-FCT-01 can be integrated using Innon’s LoRaWAN driver for Niagara, allowing temperature, humidity, setpoints, modes, and fan states to be exposed cleanly as native Niagara points.
- Consistent point models across rooms and sites
- Reduced integration time and fewer one-off mappings
- Cleaner handover and long-term operability

From good systems to great outcomes
Many fan coil installations stop at basic on/off control and manual adjustment. Used properly, MC-LW-FCT-01 enables room-level optimisation and operational control that remains useful after handover.
- Better comfort control with less manual intervention
- Energy savings through responsive heating and cooling
- Cleaner handover with less “how does this actually run?” confusion
- Scalable retrofits across floors, wings, or entire portfolios
How this fits into a Ready For Anything® solution
On its own, MC-LW-FCT-01 delivers modern fan coil control with local visibility. When combined with the right LoRaWAN architecture, Niagara integration, data structure, and operator training, it becomes part of a Ready For Anything® solution — designed to keep delivering value long after commissioning.

Installation overview (from the user manual)
Important: Installation involves mains voltage. The device should be installed only by a qualified electrician and only when the system is disconnected from the electrical supply. Do not mount the device on a metallic surface, and mount indoors only in a clean, dry place (no drip/splash water). Use an external primary isolating facility and ensure appropriate overcurrent protection.
- Commission on your LoRaWAN Network Server (recommended first): Add the device using the supplied Serial Number, DevEUI, AppEUI (JoinEUI) and AppKey from the credentials file. Once powered, it initiates a join procedure (SF12). Enable ADR in your LNS and/or mark the device as static.
- Power off the existing thermostat: Turn off the power supply to the existing thermostat and remove it without disconnecting the cables (they can help identify wiring).
- Identify the correct wiring diagram: Determine which FCU wiring configuration applies (2-pipe/4-pipe, 3-speed/ECM, etc.) and plan wiring accordingly.
- Remove the power module: Lift the power module from the FCT (a flat screwdriver can help).
- Wire the terminals: Connect wires according to the chosen wiring diagram. Do not leave stranded wires or exposed metal outside the terminal. Tightening torque guidance applies to screw terminals.
- Reinsert power module and restore power: Reinsert the power module into the FCT and restore power using the breaker.
- Enter Installer’s menu and select wiring configuration: Turn the device off (hold the M button for 3 seconds), then hold the reset button (back) and the fan speed button for 5 seconds. Select the correct wiring diagram for your application.
- Mounting: Mount the wall mounting plate using the included screws (and dowels if needed). Slide the thermostat onto the mounting plate and tighten the security screw on the bottom. Do not use non-flat head screws for the mounting bracket.
- Validate operation: Confirm the FCU responds correctly to mode changes, fan speed changes, and target temperature adjustments.
- Maintenance note: Check the electrical connections every 6 months and tighten if needed.
